Mr Bungle Disco Volante Vinyl Reissue

gronk

How odd…..some Mr Bungle news? Mr. Bungle’s Disco Volante is being reissued by Plain Recordings around July or August this year along with the original 7 incher accompaniment.

Amazon Description:

“US 180 Gram Vinyl Pressing. ONE OF THE MOST UNCOMPROMISING AND ADVENTUROUS MAJOR LABEL RELEASES OF THE ’90S, MR BUNGLE’S SECOND ALBUM, ORIGINALLY RELEASED IN 1995, AN ‘ALTERNATIVE’ RECORD ONLY IN THE VAGUEST SENSE OF THE WORD. INCORPORATING DEATH METAL, FREE JAZZ, EXPERIMENTAL ELECTRONICA, AND AMBIENT SOUNDTRACKS, ALONG WITH MIKE PATTON‘S OUTRAGEOUS VOCAL STYLE, ‘DISCO VOLANTE’ IS PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT AND GROUNDBREAKING RELEASE OF PATTON‘S STORIED CAREER, AND THAT’S SAYING A LOT.”

Four Films: Film Music by Trevor Dunn

gronk

An upcoming release from Tzadik:

One of the busiest and most accomplished bass players in New York, a talented composer and band leader, Trevor Dunn has been the lynchpin of several astounding groups including Mr. Bungle, Fantômas, Moonchild, Asmodeus, Electric Masada, Junk Genius, New Mellow Edwards and many, many more. His own units include trioconvulsant, MadLove and Schemes of Omission. The soundtrack music here covers a wide range of moods, from electronic noise to jazz and orchestral music, and not surprisingly shows a marked Morricone influence. This is a dynamic CD of music from one of the best musicians in the new generation of downtown composer/performers.”

Estradasphere at the Rothbury Music Festival

gronk

Official announcement:

“Hello Friends,

We are going to be playing the Rothbury Music Festival with Amanda Palmer from July 3rd-6th. We will be playing throughout the weekend doing our own show as well as a set with Amanda in The Establishment Circus Tent at the festival.

If there are any of you that could assist us with a ride (in a van or a vehicle big enough for 4 people and some guitars) from Chicago on either the evening of July 3rd or the morning of the 4th and also back to Chicago on the morning of the 6th please contact us ASAP. We also need a guitar amplifier (preferably a fender twin) a bass amp, and a four piece drum set for the festival as well.

So if any of you that would like to go the festival for free in return for
driving/providing us with gear that would be amazing. We also could pay for these things as well but our budget is limited.

So please let us know if your are interested in hanging with us for a weekend and helping us out . We will be in serious debt to your utter generosity. Contact us here at MySpace if you are interested.

Thank you all for your continued support of our mission!

See you there!

Estradasphere”

Nice interview over at gibson.com:

“We’re big ugly weirdos who make incredibly strange music. But we have passionate fans who are into everything we do and there are enough of them so I’m not concerned at all.”
