Heyas,
I installed a nested comments plugin which failed and apparently people haven’t been able to comment. (cheers to feelingkettle for the heads up).
I have removed the plugin and we are back to the working (albeit crappier) comments system
sorry for the hassles.

Info:
One of the very few European performances as a trio. Kind of an “unplugged” or acoustic style show. The audio is great and I’ve never seen any trio material in either audio or video form. Filmed by Gui of the band ThanatoschizO. ThanatoschizO’s new album features Timb Harris.

Trevor Dunn guests on Terror Syndrome’s Rusty Trombone
Trevor Dunn along with Testament‘s Alex Skolnick have guested on Terror Syndrome’s new track “Rusty Trombone” which has recently been uploaded to their myspace.
“Alex Skolnick and Trevor Dunn are unfuckingbelievable on this song. Trevor’s Bass playing is exactly what I pictured it to be… ultra creative, tasteful and plainly awesome!!!! This song was written with Trevor in mind. He informed me that he used his Alembic 5 String Bass from his Mr. Bungle days when he recorded his part, which I thought was pretty fucking cool.”

Jeff Caxide and Greg Puciato part of New Band Spylacopa
Jeff Caxide of Isis and Greg Puciato of the Dillinger Escape Plan have joined new band Spylacopa, formed by John LaMacchia of Candiria. Also joining them is Julie Christmas of Made out of Babies. They will be releasing an EP together later this year along with the possibility of a tour.

Serj Tankian records with Mike Patton for film Body of Lies
Serj Tankian recently recorded a song with Mike Patton for the upcoming film “A Body of Lies“, an adaptation of the novel of the same name.
“I’ve been composing for a play with Steven Sater, who did Spring Awakening. I just did a track with Mike Patton for a film called Body of Lies, and there are other films that I’m composing or co-composing.”

Schimmel, Whooley Reunite – an Orange Tulip Conspiracy Tour
Official Announcement:
“Hello Friends,
As many of might or might not know I have started a new band called Orange Tulip Conspiracy. I am proud to announce that we are going to be doing a west coast tour from November 14-22 in support of our debut record which has been recently released on Web of Mimicry. The tour is going to feature Jason Schimmel (guitar, keys), John Whooley (sax), Dan Robbins (bass), Zach Cline (guitar, keys) and Lee Smith (drums).
Currently this is our tour:
Friday Nov 14- Seattle, WA @ The Josephine
Saturday Nov 15- Seattle, WA @ Rendezvous
Sunday Nov 16- Portland, OR TBA
Monday Nov 17- Eugene, OR TBA
Tuesday Nov 18- Arcata or Sacramento, CA TBA
Wednesday Nov 19- Petaluma, CA TBA
Thursday Nov 20- Santa Cruz, CA @ Moe’s Alley
Friday Nov 21- Los Angeles, CA @ The Knitting Factory
Saturday Nov 22- San Francisco, CA TBAAs you can see there are a lot of cities where we are having trouble finding venues to play at (wherever it says TBA). If any of you have bands in these cities or would just like to help us book some gigs that would be a huge assistance. Please contact me here at Estradasphere’s myspace or become friends with Orange Tulip Conspiracy and contact me there (OTC is on Top 8). Also if you live around the cities I have listed we are open to playing other places as well.
This tour is going to be very exciting because this will be the first time in many years that John Whooley (original sax player of Estradasphere) and I will have the chance to perform live together. I am also proud to introduce Dan Robbins, whose name you might recognize on the Palace of Mirrors album, a long time friend and truly one of the best bay area bass players. OTC will also feature Zach Cline, an incredible guitarist from the seattle scene. This tour is a bit of a fusion between new Estradasphere members and old ones, plus some new faces. So please come and tell your friends about this. If you need more information all of the dates will be posted on our myspace page: myspace/orangetulipconspiracy
So thank you all for your continued support and alliance. We hope to see many of you there and promise to make each evening a truly memorable experience with undisclosed surprises.
Thanks,
Jason Schimmel”
Fantomas Melvins Big Band DVD hits the streets
The Fantomas Melvins DVD – Live from London 2006 is due out on the 26th of August and from all accounts it is well worth the wait. If you’re a fan make sure you grab a copy
if not for the concert, for the rambling and mostly unrelated commentary featuring among others, Ipecac’s good buddy Danny Devito.
