In a recent interview with Metal Injection, Dave Lombardo was asked whether he would ever rejoin Fantomas. Not only did he say that it will happen, but that he has also been in recent email contact with Mike:
“(5.26) I just emailed Mike Patton and we are in constant contact, that door will never close. I had so much fun working within the Fantomas music and its something I’ll never ever want to close. I’m sure in the future because he did mention hey we need to work together again. We’re both busy with Faith No More and me with slayer and it’s been like that for a while, but i see it coming.”
This is great news for us dedicated Fantomas obsessees as things were looking a little dire there for a while!
Slayer are on the brink of an Australian tour, and for one special Sydney show will be performing Reign in Blood in it’s entirety.
Japanese noiseys Melt Banana will be heading to Australia in October but unfortunately will be only playing one show, at the Melbourne International Arts Festival. They play The Forum as part of Beck’s Rumpus Room on the 10th of October. Tickets are $15. More info
Pity they couldn’t add a few extra cities and make a tour of it while they were here!
America’s funnyman returns to Australian shores this month for a “Country Winners” tour and will also apparently be supporting a couple of well known punk outfits, Bad Religion and NOFX. Word on the street is Danny Heifetz will be manning the skins for the Country Winners shows.

Bar Mckinnon’s Umlaut will be supporting Les Claypool on his national tour of Australia in December for the following dates:
Wed 2 Dec Enmore Theatre Sydney
Fri 4 Dec Forum Theatre Melbourne
“Bar McKinnon of Umlaut is thrilled to be supporting Les Claypool on the Sydney and Melbourne tour dates. Having toured in the ’90′s, Primus and Mr Bungle go way back, it’s like old times!”
This will mark the first occasion that Umlaut have ventured North to Sydney, which is very pleasing for at least one fan who happens to reside in Sydney and has been begging for a Sydney show…………
Over the years I have made some stubb related ring tones and I thought I would up ‘em and share them. They are MP3′s but it’s pretty easy to convert them to iPhone format if need be (hint: add them to itunes, right click in itunes and create aac version).
So that big aussie festival event called Soundwave who happen to be featuring bands like oh I don’t know……….Faith No More, Isis, Meshuggah etc etc have finally opened ticket sales up to the general public and not just pre and pre pre sales.
“General Public tickets on sale this Friday!
General Public tickets go on sale this Friday 18 September at 9am.
Tickets are priced at $145 + fees and charges.
Tickets are available from www.ticketek.com.au, 132 849 or http://soundwave.oztix.com.au”
According to the soundwave website Melbourne is pretty much sold out, so if you’re intending to go you should probably get on it.
Bear in mind Faith No More will be playing some side shows and more than likely Isis will be too, so if you hate festivals but want to catch them, hold out for those dates, but if you don’t want to miss out it might be advisable to grab a soundwave ticket as well.
Nice little article over at noisecreep about Chuck Mosley and the new release. It also mentions briefly his near collaboration with Faith No More on the Second Coming tour:
“I’m really mad that I didn’t have my passport because they asked me to come over and do [Peaches & Herb's] ‘Reunited’ with Patton, but I couldn’t get my passport together in time”
With Faith No More‘s The Second Coming Tour now extending into the early months of 2010, the release of the Mondo Cane double album has been pushed back until April/May of next year.
The upside is that this release, previously expected for November, will now likely coincide with some Paris tour dates.
So I totally forgot to mention Trevor Dunn’s latest venture, MadLove’s new album White with Foam has hit the streets! Mine is still in the mail so I haven’t managed to hear it yet, but from all accounts it’s great. The album launch is on the 16th of September @ Southpaw, Brooklyn, NY so get on down there if you’re local.
