My distributor thinks the album will have a better chance if released at this later date, plus something to do with the prospects of radio-play here in Australia. If we put it out early November we’d stand little chance of it making any kind of splash at that point on radio…

A couple of pics of Bär in the studio working on the new Umläut album due out later this year.

Bär McKinnon has taken up residency at the Brunswick Hotel for the month of August. The first in a series of four solo shows kicked off last night at 5 pm (sorry I’m late).

Experience a smattering of Bär’s solo work in an intimate and chilled environment every Saturday through the month of August.

Bar McKinnon will guest star on a few songs this Friday the 17th with Dillinger Escape Plan at their Palace (formerly Metro) gig in Melbourne. Should be interesting Anyone going, please take pics!

Melb-erican multi-instrumentalist and ex-Bungle saxophonist Bär McKinnon is currently putting together his band Umläut’s debut release with a special guest vocalist to appear on one track. Mike Patton is currently laying down vocals on the track Atlas Face (also known as “Australia Day”). There is still no known release date for the album as yet but it looks like it will appear sometime in the second half of 2008.

Rumour has it that there may be the possibility of an Oz East Coast mini tour later in the year, which would be great considering Bär has rarely ventured far from his home base of Melbourne since his tour of oz a few years back (not counting the SC3 tour
