hello folks,

we figured we’d tip of those of you who are on the west coast of the United States to a tour you might want to check out. It’s Orange Tulip Conspiracy, which is Jason Schimmel’s (part time SC3 bassist and full time friend) project, who also have a CD out on Mimicry Recordings. We’ll let their press release take it from here, but check this stuff out: Jason’s music is great, and the people in his band are amazing — for some reason they didn’t list the bands they are playing with, but I know some of them are excellent: for example, they’re playing with the excellent Diminished Men in Seattle and Japanoise Elephants in SF. Look up who’s on the bill in your town.

Orange Tulip Conspiracy is heading out on tour to promote a brand new record. Commencing in Seattle and ending in San Francisco, the tour will have 8 shows running down the west coast of the United States. OTC will feature some new and old faces associated with the Estradasphere scene. The live incarnation will feature Jason Schimmel (guitar), John Whooley (sax, keys), Dan Robbins (upright and electric bass), Zach Cline (guitar), and Lee Smith (drums). Jason has played with John and Lee in Estradasphere, and Dan Robbins is an accomplished and highly sought-after bassist in his own right from the central coast of California.

As many of might or might not know I have started a new band called Orange Tulip Conspiracy. I am proud to announce that we are going to be doing a west coast tour from November 14-22 in support of our debut record which has been recently released on Web of Mimicry. This tour is going to be very exciting because this will be the first time in many years that John Whooley (original sax player of Estradasphere) and I will have the chance to perform live together. I am also proud to introduce Dan Robbins, whose name you might recognize on the Palace of Mirrors album, a long time friend and truly one of the best bay area bass players. OTC will also feature Zach Cline, an incredible guitarist from the seattle scene. This tour is a bit of a fusion between new Estradasphere members and old ones, plus some new faces. So please come and tell your friends about this.

We are going to be playing the Rothbury Music Festival with Amanda Palmer from July 3rd-6th. We will be playing throughout the weekend doing our own show as well as a set with Amanda in The Establishment Circus Tent at the festival.

If there are any of you that could assist us with a ride (in a van or a vehicle big enough for 4 people and some guitars) from Chicago on either the evening of July 3rd or the morning of the 4th and also back to Chicago on the morning of the 6th please contact us ASAP. We also need a guitar amplifier (preferably a fender twin) a bass amp, and a four piece drum set for the festival as well.

So if any of you that would like to go the festival for free in return for
driving/providing us with gear that would be amazing. We also could pay for these things as well but our budget is limited.

“ The official companion EP to Palace of Mirrors CD and DVD, available exclusively as a download from Lobefood. You wouldn’t necessarily be wrong in calling this a “Palace of Mirrors” leftovers bin. Perhaps for the hardcore Estradasphere fans only, the Pegasus Vault sheds further light on the Palace CD and DVD thematic material. At one point or another, everything on here was destined for the Palace CD. Despite the ‘cutting room floor’ nature, this really makes a great playing EP that works on it’s own.
