According to Ipecac, Mike has recently written a “Futurist Noise Composition” but won’t actually be performing it. It will be performed by other musicians in two separate shows in New York and San Fran.
The official statement:
“Now here is a cool show to check out. Mike Patton recently wrote a musical piece for a futurist noise series that will be performed by musicians and composers in both San Francisco and New York City.
The album features Mike Patton on the track Unbalanced Pieces along withGibby Haynes of the Butthole Surfers on Death Bells and also Mark Lanegan who contributes vocals to 10 tracks, including a duet with Mike.
“Jason Pierce of Spiritualized and Mike Patton of Faith No More, Richard Hawley and Gibby Haynes of Butthole Surfers are on the 3rd album of the duo Soulsavers aka Brit production, Rich Machin and Ian Glover.
The main voice on ‘Broken’ has been made by the former member of Screaming Trees, Mark Lanegan, as on the previous album ‘It’s Not How Far You Fall, It’s The Way You Land’, released in 2007. Lanegan has co-written most of the album. Pierce sings duets with Lanegan on ‘Pharaoh’s Chariot’, and Hawley is also the voice on ‘Shadows Fall’. Patton participated in ‘Unbalanced Pieces’ and to Haynes’ Death Bells’.
The single, ‘Sunrise’, written by Lanegan and performed by Will Oldham, aka Bonnie Prince Billy, released before the album, with opposite B ‘Will You Miss Me When I Burn’, played by Lanegan”

ScoreKeeper and Lakeshore Records bring you an interview with Mike from his home studio covering topics such as composing the soundtrack to Crank 2, his methods of composing and his many wonderful toys!
The score for Crank: High Voltage seems to be much more highly anticipated than the actual film. Written and performed by our friend Mike Patton, the OST is due for release April 7. You can preorder from amazon if you feel so inclined.
According to MovieWeb, Mike will be voicing a Decepticon in the upcoming Transformers movie Revenge of the Fallen, due out in June. There appears to be some confusion as to which appendage of the Devastator he will be voicing but rumour is that it is Mixmaster.
