Tooby is right. Cobra isn’t really more of the same art-noise, it’s about the game and the improv and marvelling at the skills of the musos. I love the concept of cobra and wish that this sort of musical endeavour happened more often. It’s all about the skill of the musician to instantly improv on command. but it is unlistenable it’s really only something to be experienced live too I think

The main reason I posted the vid is cos it’s fucken Patton, Trey and Trev on the same stage! Does anyone thinks it’s possible that Bungle might rise from the ashes? Or should I just stop fooling myself and STFU about it? I know Bar and Danny want it to happen…..

The whole point of Cobra is that it’s improvised. and there are rules. It’s really not meant to be listened to the same way you would, say, Beethoven. It’s something you experience live and watch the players interact with the prompter and each other. If you are familiar with the rules it makes it much more enjoyable to watch. At this stage of the game, people that are familiar with zorn and are on this site, should understand what Cobra is. The bungle members have been playing Cobra with zorn for years.

Maybe I’m missing the point slightly, in that this performance was completely inpromptu and pretty much improvised on the spot with minimum rehearsal. Still, there was absolutely nothing here worth revisiting.

At least we got the warring factions around the table again though!
