Dillinger Escape Plan @ the Roundhouse Sydney 17 May 08
Bloody brilliant show as always. Even if you aren’t a huge fan of these guys you have to see them live, they put on a great show. Some of the items thrown in to the crowd by the band included a garbage bin, mic stands, and band equipment boxes. The security guards didn’t look overly impressed. Greg stole a cymbal from Gil and wedged it between the left house speakers. Never been to the roundhouse before but I have to say it’s a great venue. Pretty much good views from anywhere in the place.
Ben hooked me up with a photographers pass which was awesome of him (thanks heaps Ben) so I managed to score some pretty sweet photos of the event. Here is a smattering of the better ones:

Mate what a show! 5th time I have seen them and easily the best of a very good bunch. The kind of show that made their reputation.
When Greg said “tonight everyone here is a member of the Dillinger Escape Plan” I got a little wet…
Caught them in Melbourne as well and met Gil, Greg and Ben at the airport. All super cool. Greg put up with at least 30 minutes of me on sleep being a massive fanboy, whatta guy!

yeah it was awesome wasn’t it. pity it was so short but you can forgive them for that, they must be buggered by the time they finish. they don’t stop moving! new guitarist fits in really well too. did you just happen to bump in to them at the airport? lucky

I have never seen them top an hour and can honestly say I am never left disappointed. They come on, fucking destroy everything and everyone then move on to the next show. Relentless and uncompromising.
I did just run into them, yeah. I live in Canberra and I managed to miss TWO FLIGHTS over that weekend. Slept in and missed the first one to Melbs (so my fault), then my mate gave me the wrong check-in time for the return to Canberra and I missed that (not my fault!!!) to. $164 spent on a new ticket later and I am sitting in the lounge having breakfast and who should walk by but Gil and Greg. Chatted with Greg for a while then got my flight home, slept all day, caught a ride with a mate to DEP, rocked the fucked out and drove home. It was all worth it, frankly!
