85 Percent Chance of Faith No More Playing Australia

Gezarie

In a stubbadub exclusive, Billy Gould has been in direct contact with us and has revealed that the band expect to be heading down under between Dec and February!

At this stage, the bassist told us, there is an 85% chance of an Australian tour. Another source close to the band has said Puffy is really looking forward to some Australian dates and has been pushing for the reunion for well over a year.

Australia is looking pretty definite as far as tour plans go, but the guys will have to see how the European tour pans out. We’ve waited this long, I’d say we can wait a few more months.

You heard it here first! We’ll keep you updated if there are any developments on this front.

      WTF – nice coup man!

good call! it does seem pretty imminent they’ll play oz, can’t think why they would’nt do so if they’re eventually rollin round the rest of the world, after europe! many bands have their dates/venues etc all booked & organized in advance before they announce their tours, but with FNM it’s all happening in an almost surreal real-time styleee, keeping the whole world in suspense, biting their nails & praying they’ll be blessed with a gig!! it’s like waiting for the lottery numbers when you’re feelin lucky! personally, i think they’ll get round to playin the whole planet, & i imagine you’ve just set oz totally a-buzzzz with your exclusive!! “between dec & feb” suggests plans are definately afoot!! hope so, for eveyone’s sake!!! :o )

      Thanks guys.
haha well setting Australia a buzz is exactly what needs to happen.
I’ll post anything more as soon as we hear it, although it looks like we may have to play the waiting game from here on in.

The period of time that Billy told me automatically makes me think big day out. We’ll see.
BDO with side shows would make me extremely happy

I knew they’d come down under. It was never in doubt. Australia hearts FNM big time!

    • moose Says:

That is fantastic news!!!!!! I thought that they may come here as us aussies have always been good supporters of both Faith No More and all of Mikes projects!!! Cant wait

    • gronk Says:

As long as they do side shows. I’ve been boycotting BDO for a while now =/

    • Gezarie Says:

No chance they wont gronk, Sydney and melbourne at least. Lets just hope europe goes down really well

    • gronk Says:

@moose: yep pretty much anything bungle related us Aussies are fans. I mean hell we have 2 bungle members living here, and one of them is married to an Aussie!

    • gronk Says:

Hey yeah I think it will go well. The whole band seem to be enjoying themselves. My only concern is Patton and how much he is in to it. Remember he was a big factor in both FNM and bungle’s breakups.

This is the best news I’ve heard all year. Thanks. I’d even drive down to Brisbane to see them. Or at least fly to Melbourne.

    • gronk Says:

yeah im pondering a couple of flights. syd to bris, syd to melb :)

    • Frketson Says:

thanks for this mate, i can’t wait till its confirmed that theyre coming!

    • gronk Says:

      gettin closer Frketson :)

    • Sara Says:

Why haven’t I seen this until now? I could see as early as March this year on Twitter that Billy Gould and Roddy Bottum were keen on coming to Australia (Why not? They had an album go platinum here. :D )…and Mike Patton seems to like Australia so I certainly didn’t think it unlikely they would play down here, especially after shows outside of Europe were confirmed. But this page right here is WONDERFUL! Hahaha! :P

    • gronk Says:

@Sara: i am REEALLY keen to get some australian tour dates announced and firmed up :) can’t wait! word is possibly the soundwave tour will be the winner

    • Sara Says:

@gronk: I would prefer it be Soundwave than the Big Day Out. Either way I imagine they’ll play some sideshows so…it should be all good! :)

    • gronk Says:

yep i hate the big day out! soundwave last year was pretty shoddily run but still prefer it to the BDO :D

and yeah it’s the side shows that I’m keen on. A few consecutive nights at the hordern will do me thanks ;)

    • Sara Says:

@gronk: Our dream came true! Haha… There’s four nights in between Sydney Soundwave and Melbourne Soundwave so it’s looking quite good in terms of sideshows.
