New Faith No More Dates for August
Despite news that Download Festival would be FNM‘s sole UK appearance they have just confirmed a whole series of new dates for August, including the already sold out Reading Festival and Leeds Festival!
Thurs Aug 20 Pukkelpop Festival, Hasselt, Belgium
Fri Aug 21 Highfield Festival, Erfurt, Germany
Sun Aug 23 Area 4 Festival, Oberhausen, Germany
Fri Aug 28 Reading Festival, Reading, England
Sat Aug 29 Rock en Seine, Paris, France
Sun Aug 30 Leeds Festival, Leeds, England
And to top things off, a little birdy may have tweeted word of another UK show… But we’ll keep you updated. *cough Brixton*
Enjoy, Europe!
UPDATE: Problems with Leeds and Reading. Official word from Billy:
“Reading and Leeds want dates but Download want their bill to be “exclusive”.
Faith No More’s booking agent is currently sorting this out, though for the moment Download are making other UK dates exceedingly difficult.”
Will post more info when available.

HOLD THE PHONE, FNMs booking agent is throwing some up some road blocks. For the moment the UK dates are 90% confirmed, and the band are now scratching their heads as much as we are.
More news as we hear it.
Thanks

Ok here’s the deal as it presently stands, directly from Bill Gould.

A return to Brixton?!? You Fat Bastards!
I’m glad that they are looking at playing a couple of ‘alternative’ festivals at Leeds and Reading. I always felt that FNM belonged more to that scene rather the crappy Ozfest-inspired metal shenanigans populated by nu-metal twats and hoary old rockers in their faded iron maiden tees!
From what I have gathered on the re-union so far, it seems that the others are more into it than Patton. I know he has a million things on his plate at any one time and I think he may be involved purely for the silly money that is on the table.
Nothing wrong with that, it means Ipecac can keep going from strength to strength and those folk who have never seen FNM before can do so. Especially for our friends in Oz!
If this is the case then I sicerely hope Billy, Roddy, Mike and Jon (Introduce Yourself!) carry on and do something new together with or without Patton.

OMG Brixton! That would be amazing.
I’m uncertain about Download, unless/until they make single-day tickets available, because it’s very expensive and I could only make it to the Friday night anyway (due to friends having planned their wedding with Not A Thought about the FNM tour, tsk
).
But Brixton… Fingers crossed. We’ll give them such a great reception that they won’t be able to resist touring all the rest of the world, too!

Yeah, thank god Download isn’t the only UK date! And for us Scottish fans, dunno what to make of Bill’s last flickr comment! Roll on a return to the Barrowlands!!!
Jim – absolutely, I think Patton has already made it very clear that he is quite reserved about the whole thing, I wonder if he can feel his tail between his legs? I’d like to think it’s an either/or thing – just embrace it or don’t do it, it’s not like him to be half-hearted about things IF that is the case. We shall see…

@Jim: Do I detect you getting a little excited about this reunion?
April 25th, 2009 at 10:01 pm
@nic: Word is there will be a show, not sure if it will be brixton at this stage though

ah, the word I was looking for earlier was nonchalant – Patton is being very nonchalant, for instance the new post re: US dates, ‘hey, I just work here.’

Makes you ponder his motivations and how into this he is
