Faith No More Reunion Rumours are Abound Tonight

gronk

So the internet is abound with rumours about FNM reuniting. For the most part I have ignored them but it’s a slow news day so I thought I’d post about it ;)

Mike has always stated it would never happen. Not so long ago the story changed when he mentioned it would only happen if “buckets of money” were thrown their way. Recently he said it was a definite possibility that the guys would work together again but that it wouldn’t be under the guise of Faith No More.

Now there are wild rumours appearing stating that they will be reforming for the 2009 Coachella Festival.

According to a recent MOTO thread gerg has stated the following:

“they are getting crazy offers, but I still doubt it will happen, but you never know”

For me having been denied seeing them in 97 for being (just) under age, I still hope that one day I will be able to see them live.

So the offers are rolling in as is the cash, do you think it will ever happen? Do you want it to? Do you even care any more?

It ain’t ever gonna happen, never. Things happen for a reason. Sometimes it’s best just to move on and not ruin a fantastic legacy. FNM split at just the right time. Although ‘Album Of The Year’ had some stupendous individual moments, overall it is quite lacklustre, lacking the unpredictability and magic of earlier releases. FNM albums shouldn’t be in the slightest bit boring.

I would love for Mike Patton to work with the other members again but NOT under the guise of FNM.

I can understand your point of view Gronk if u have unfortunately never seen them before. Luckily I managed to see them around half a dozen times so maybe that’s why i’m against the idea.

Maybe a one-off gig for some charity or other where they can shake up the shit a bit might work!

I saw them in ’97. Brilliant show. I’d totally go see them on this tour, if they did get back together.

Even if just Coachella, I’d try to swing it…

Why shouldn’t they? It’s not like it’s any worse than being a session drummer for Ozzy, or that any of the other former members have been THAT busy since the break-up 10 years ago! Plus, Patton has proven that he can juggle several projects at a time-what’s a little reunion?

Ain’t nothin’ wrong with nostalgia and the older I get, the more I see the past with a golden light. I say bring it on!

      Epic 2009 remix

    • POSTY MCPOSTERTON Says:

They should do a ballad version of Epic. :)

part of me hates this idea

      are they selling out?

who knows anymore…. but once Patton has some $$$ he should call Trey etc,
book a studio and get back to making NEW excellent music.

if this actually happened and they reformed, would we all cringe if we saw them playing on letterman or something?

      also, who would play guitar?

    • mwbungloid Says:

I would rather cringe watching a reformed FNM on Letterman than most of the other bands that one would find playing late night TV.

As for guitar, they should bring back the pumpkin king!

I think the same of Jim Bowen (and I never saw FNM live)
