Faith No More US Tour? Still No

gronk

But they are talkin bout it (roddy tweet):

“So many tweeters asking about US dates… we’ve talked about it but nothing’s yet in the books…. y’all will be the first to know…”

Sorry to hear that yank friends! The photo used for this post is just amazing – I’ve had it as my desktop since it was up!

    • McQuest Says:

yeah, there’s probably not enough money in it for them over here, unless they were touring an album. While they can sell out stadiums in Europe and S. America, in N. America they are lucky to sell out a 2,000 head concert hall.

    • gronk Says:

@Bister Mungle: I take this as a good sign for the US. At least they are talking about it now ;)
And yes this photo is absolutely amazing!

@McQuest: Is that true? Are Faith No More just not popular in America?

    • McQuest Says:

      gronk,
yeah, everybody here forgot about them after The Real Thing. Anytime there is a show on TV or radio about one hit wonders, FNM is always mentioned for Epic. I’m in Columbus, OH. They played here 2 times since 1992. In 1992 and 1997, both times they played the Newport which only hold 1700 people. Same type of Venues that Tomahawk and Fantomas would play.
Unfortunatly there is no Festival tour here like in Europe that they can just sign up for, If they tour here they would have to book their own shows, possibly find an opening act and all that. Or wait till next summer and try to get on Ozzfest or Lollapalooza. How crappy that would be.

Good news that they’re open to it…

      2010, I bet.

Fuck the US, like McQuest says they never cared and now they’ve ‘rediscovered’ FNM they want a piece of the action like Europe. The band are better to go where they’re appreciated – SA, Down Under, Japan etc. Viva La Festivals!!

But I say bring on Mondo Cane, heh ;)

    • POSTY MCPOSTERTON Says:

Um… thee are MANY U.S. fans who appreciate them. So, fuck the haters of not wanting them to do a U.S. tour. :P They’re *from* the U.S., for christ’s sake. :P :P ;)

    • Timb Says:

Heh, I hear ya PM – think my comments are directed at the ‘I got into them after they broke-up’ crowd.

    • POSTY McPOSTERTON Says:

      I hear ya. :)

Funny story about when I got into them… I bought The Real Thing and a Milli Vanilli cassingle on the same day. *face palm*

    • McQuest Says:

I don’t meet too many fans that got into them after 1997, If so they are most likely kids that heard Korn, Slipknot, or some other shit producing band talk about them. More often than not, most mainstream radio listening to saps when asked about FNM will say, “oh yeah, they used to be one of my favorite bands, it’s too bad they never made a second album. Whatever happened to the singer?” Fucking morons.

    • C.Juhl Says:

@McQuest:Also in Columbus, OH and making the trip to Dublin, Ireland for the Aug. 27th show, is there anything you would like me to pick up as far as merch?

    • Sara Says:

It seems there are quite a number of US fans…They’re just not as popular as they are in Europe, South America, Australia and NZ. And yes, it seems after The Real Thing FNM lost some of their polularity in the US. I think that’s because a lot of people in the US who liked The Real Thing were people who listened to more “mainstream” music and Angel Dust put them off or something…in other places too, but mainly the US. This is purely figures and stuff for me because I don’t live in the USA and never have and The Real Thing was released before I was born.

    • Sara Says:

P.S. I agree Bister Mungle, that photo is amazing.

      Haha! Too funny.

Seen FNM several times back in the early 90s in Switzerland. Now, I live in the US and it’s a shame that there aren’t more Open-Air concerts in the Summer like there are in Europe. Sure there is Lollapalooza but most of those concerts are just in one particular city. Even Ozzfest was only in Dallas last year (and this year cancelled cause Ozzy is recording a new album).

The Mayhem Festival seems to be the only good thing going for now. Maybe FNM can headline that festival for ’10 since even Manson is this year’s headliner (Slayer should be headlining). Anyhow, let’s all hope for Faith No More concerts in the US soon…

    • McQuest Says:

@c.juhl. Just found this thread again. awesome man, I’m up at 161 and westerville. I’ve seen the shirts. anyone know if there is anything besides shirts. I don’t know, I appreciate the offer though, Hope you have fun.
You could always record it for me, haha.

      FUCK YOU BITCH!

I’ve been following them since 92. Been there everytime they toured. If they don’t play the States, I at least have that.
