Hmmm, Isis in Glasgow? I only have one of their albums (the remix one) and I have to say that I was less than impressed. Would anyone recommend seeing them live?
Also, severely disappointed that Dalek ain’t coming to these shores (yat).

Hey – I am going to that gig! I saw them a few years back at King Tuts and they were truly amazing – so yes, recommend it! The managed to keep the heavy sound dynamic and audible live. How can you judge them on a REMIX album! Oceanic, Panoptican and In The Absence of Truth are all great (I am yet to give the new one a proper listen, but it is meant to be their most accessible album yet). Also disappointed Dalek couldn’t make it. Try and check isis out and go!!

yeah i saw isis at king tuts aswell..(truly amazing)is’nt how i would describe it! but it was pretty good…i like them and have everything they’ve done,mostly vinyl!but they are a band you need to be in the mood for,i think! i have however seen dalek live a few times,and they are truly amazing.

I love Isis and they are well worth seeing live so try and catch them if you can. I’ve never heard the remix album, just the stuff mike did. I would recommend starting on Panopticon then in the absence of truth (my fave atm) and then oceanic and wavering radiant. Wavering Radiant is good but not the best.

I saw Panopticon on special for $10AUS the other day, as someone who has never heard Isis before is that album worth taking a punt on?

Yeah man grab it. It’s probably the best Isis album and 10$ is a bargain. Where is this at, JB? They got wavering radiant there?

gronk, it was on play4me but it looks like it’s gone now. I think they’ve still got the ‘Holy Tears’ single for $7. I think they were the only two Isis CD’s on special.
