New Lovage Album Done and Dusted
In a recent interview over at Consequence of Sound, Kid Koala has confirmed that the next Lovage album, the follow up to 2001′s Music to Make Love to your old Lady by, has been recorded and is only waiting on Jennifer (Charles) and Mike Patton to finish it off:
“The Lovage music is done for the most part but we’re just waiting for Mike and Jennifer to get together and write again. But I had so much fun on that tour. I hope they finish it soon (laughs). Dan the Automator is part of it as well, of course. But I haven’t heard any new Peeping Tom stuff yet.”

Good news regardless.

yeah who knows. still, good to know there is definitely another album happening. Even though there have been hints for a while, there was never any real confirmation.

I assumed that Lovage was pretty much a Dan The Automator led project, but going by these words it seems KK has taken over the driving seat.
‘Take Me Home’ was the undoubted highlight for me from the otherwise fairly patchy first album.

patchy? with songs like lifeboat, to catch a thief, anger management, archie and veronica etc etc?!

I love the Lovage album. whole thing is great. Book of the Month is my fave. Jennifer Charles is freakn amazing….. this album introduced me to Elysian Fields too, awesome band.

how could i forget book of the month?! it has a video for crying out loud.
and yeah lovage introduced me to elysian fields too (thanks lovage)
i just hope the 2nd album can maintain the quality, it’d be a pity to comeback after all this time with a steaming turd

What of the non-Patton/Charles tracks?
Like I said, pretty patchy!

No, quite reasonably sane Mr Mindbait.
I still think it’s quite a lacklustre album and I have rarely played, save one or 2 tracks, since I bought in on release.
Imagine two human beings having differing opinions! What’s this world coming to?

I agree on the patchiness, mostly the non-vocal tracks. Still a great record, though… and it got me into Elysian Fields as well.

“Imagine two human beings having differing opinions! What’s this world coming to?”

Have you ordered the grey uniforms and the shears to provide the crewcuts yet? Is the mindprobe machine nearly done?
I now have this image of you sitting in your lair stroking a white cat and planning world domination! “I will make the peasants like the Lovage album! Power is mine!” (Cackle)

yep i’m taking a leaf from the americans at guantanamo, i’ll play “music to make love to your old lady by” day and night at top volume… possibly with the 2nd handsome boy modelling school album thrown in on weekends

yeah it’s a frustrating thing, on the one hand i’d love to hear some new tomahawk or fantomas, on the other hand i’m curious to hear this new ‘the nevermen’ band, but on another (third) hand i really wish patton and the automator would get around to releasing lovage or crudo or both
