Mondo Cane in Paris 2010?
UPDATE 2: Ipecac now have official word on this:
“It has come to our attention that tickets are being sold for Mike Patton‘s Mondo Cane in Paris on February 19 & 20. Unfortunately these dates are not correct. Mike did not agree to these dates. If you bought tickets, please get a refund. We are working on getting the correct dates. (http://www.ipecac.com/news/426)”
UPDATE: Mike’s manager Greg Werckman has stated that Mike will not be playing these shows. He says Mike was approached to play the shows but stated he was not available until March.
Tickets have just gone on sale for two Mike Patton dates with Ochestre Nationale d’Ile de France. February 18th and 20th, 2010. The concerts will be held at Cité de la Musique and are expected to be the first Mondo Cane shows since the highly successful Amsterdam concert of 2008.
A double album of Mondo Cane (Mike Patton and The Metropole Orchestra) is expected for release in November this year, though a later date to coincide with the Paris shows, is likely.
The event is already selling quickly. Get your tickets HERE!

So I guess FNM summer festival tour Down Under seems unlikely if this is the case…
July 1st, 2009 at 11:11 pm
Excellent news. Been looking forward to this for ages since I saw the clips that were previously posted.
Check out the cool pic of MP in full crooning Sinatra mode. Only thing missing is a Scotch-on-the-rocks in one hand. (And the Mafia looking on from the wings)
July 2nd, 2009 at 11:11 pm
you gonna head over and catch the show Jimmy?
July 2nd, 2009 at 11:30 pm
It’s certainly tempting. Will need to decide and get it sorted quickly.
If not, at least I will have the DVD & CD as a poor substitute.
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:56 am
matt if it is BDO then the tour is pretty much done and dusted by then.
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:56 am
@Jim its just across the pond innit? don’t miss it man

EVERYONE STOP! DONT BUY TICKETS
Greg has just confirmed that these dates are FALSE.
“there will not be any shows by mike on those dates in Paris
the promoter made a bad mistake
IPECAC RECORDINGS”
So sorry to anyone who bought tickets already. This is a major cause for concern that a venue is selling tickets to an event that is not happening. Also, Matt. FNM will be in Australia for a summer/Autumn festival. I have personally spoken to Roddy regarding that.
Sincerest apologies to all over this post with links to the paris dates.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:32 am
was just about to book tickets for both shows!!! IS THE POST ABOVE FOR REAL? because iv checked ipecac and there is know word…
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:40 am
i am extremely sorry but yes its true. I have been emailing back and forth with Greg all evening.
He will be updating the ipecac news soon. Initially the venue contacted Mike and he informed them he wouldnt be able to do any shows until March, but DID NOT CONFIRM. They have gone ahead with this compelely of their own volition and ipecac had no idea. Mike categorically will not be in Paris in February. I asked Greg whether the dates would be rescheduled as stubbadub and moto people have their tickets already. he responded “GET REFUNDS!!!”
So heinously sorry. The venue has a lot to answer for, and ipecac should have been made aware.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:52 am
thanks for that gezaria…sean
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:58 am
Not a worry mate, such a shame. The venue has had tickets on sale for a MONTH! And ipecac weren’t even aware until I emailed the over the FNM clash. Shambles. Here’s hoping for full refunds to everyone with tickets.
July 3rd, 2009 at 7:31 am

July 3rd, 2009 at 7:40 am
email sent to you

Shit eh. Bit dodgey on the venue/promoter’s part. Although it wouldn’t surprise me if some dates do actually get confirmed.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:23 am
Awwww crap. I’m one of those suckers that got tickets for the Feb 18th show. Boo. I was so excited about it too. Now I’ll have to wrangle with the French venue to get my moolah back. Not happy! Thanks for the info though!
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:36 pm
Good news, as I am looking forward to a Aussie FNM tour…
July 3rd, 2009 at 1:36 pm
Me too Matt!! Can’t wait for some confirmed dates!

July 3rd, 2009 at 4:48 pm
Hi, Gezarie! Is it true FNM will be playing the Big Day Out in Australia in Jan/Feb??
July 3rd, 2009 at 6:35 pm
Hey Nick. BDO isn’t confirmed but they have said they will be in oz start of next year for a festival. so it’s likely the BDO which is a travesty IMHO
July 3rd, 2009 at 6:36 pm
Nick I’m sorry but no they wont be, not the Big Day Out. They will however be playing a festival in Aus early next year. Put two and two together ;o)
July 3rd, 2009 at 6:55 pm
Ohhhhh…. if not the BDO i’m guessing Soundwave late Feb! Either way, i just wanna see em! In fact, i thought Soundwave was a much better festival anyway! Less people & way more comfortable! AND better venue!
July 4th, 2009 at 12:26 am
Soundwave was much better than the Big Day Out was this year, both in scale and lineup. With Faith No More (potentially) on board next year it should kick some ass.
July 4th, 2009 at 4:01 am
I agree with you entirely! I cant stand the BDO anymore!
Now keep it under your hats kids ;o) We all need tickets first Lol
July 5th, 2009 at 1:14 am
So it’s soundwave is it. That’s better than the BDO at least although it is a bit shabbily run.
July 5th, 2009 at 3:41 am
Yeah, the organisers need to fix a few things next time! I bought my ticket for Soundwave in the “earlybird pre-sale” in October last year & didn’t get it in the mail until late January! I heard the previous year was no different! But it would be better to see them there than the BDO!
July 5th, 2009 at 6:30 am
Children children, hush!
Ixnay on the oundwavesay!
(Let you guys know when we know more!) Hit me up on twitter)

I bought tickets too. The French site is a bit difficult to negotiate so if anyone gets a succesful refund, please let me know what to do.
Cheers

[...] been trying to get some info out of the French promoters that recently prematurely advertised the Mondo Cane shows at Cité de la Musique. Finally he has received a response. Hopefully this will help anyone else in the same boat: [...]
July 12th, 2009 at 3:06 am
Thanks Alaraco! Are you going to the SA shows? If you translate any of your forum reviews I’d love to read them.
To everyone else I hope progress is being made on either refunds or new dates (the latter would be great if you all can make it!)
And to Australian stubb readers: You know what I know, soundwave was the conclusion I drew also, same as you guys with the info I was given, but nothing other than Aus in Feb has been said by the band. Gronk and i will post whatever info we get, whether it’s from the band or from you guys. Thanks
