The Lazy Man’s May Round Up

gronk

Sorry guys, been busy and have been neglecting you lately I know…..also copped some shite from someone I used to respect regarding stubb which made me question the future of the site briefly.

Anyway, have been posting news to twitter though so if you don’t follow stubb yet, please do.

Thought I would post a quick round up of what has been happening lately:

via theholyfilament, who’s that with Vincent & Mr Green?

via PattonArchivo, Stanier is back working with Duane, will we see a new Tomahawk this year (and who’s on bass)?

via stubber “Timb”, a huge new Trevor Dunn interview at invisible oranges. A must read.

via postyMcP, a new Book of Knots album, Garden of Fainting Starsand it’s on Ipecac!

via WanderLusting and Gadfly, a great live review of the Pivixki/Patton and Bill Gould’s “The Talking Book” show.

Pivixki Patton Live at TGAMH:

Trey announces on facebook a whole stack of new Secret Chiefs 3 tour dates along with the tip that there will be an extensive U.S tour with dates to be announced shortly.

Billy Gould releases “The Talking Book” (more to come on that soon).

A new one from Stanier’s Battles, Gloss Drop, out in June.

A huge newsletter from Carla Kihlstedt including news on a new Tin Hat album!

Think that’s most things for now. Hope everyone is doing well icon wink The Lazy Mans May Round Up

The Mark of Cain enter the studio

gronk

The Mark of Cain are entering the studio this month for the first time since 2001 to record a new album. The album will be released independently after the band split from BMG in 2004.

The band consists of John Scott (Guitar/Vox), Kim Scott (Bass) and John Stanier (drums – Tomahawk, Battles, ex-Helmet). Their style is unique but can be likened to Helmet and they are well known in Australia for putting on a brutal live show. The band has been absent from the Australian music scene due to Stanier’s hectic schedule and John and Kim both having families and careers.
