So the July Euro Fest dates are starting to roll in. Another one is now confirmed, Portugal’s Optimus Alive festival. More info here and ticketing info here.
And on an unrelated note, here is FNM with Tom Jones in Auckland
America’s Funny Man Neeeeeeiiiiil Hamburger will be supporting Faith No More alongside the Eagles of Death Metal, at the Sydney and Melbourne side shows on Feb 22, and 25th.
The comb-over sporting, tux wearing comedian played by Gregg Turkington, last spat humour (…literally) into the hungry faces of Patton fans at All Tomorrows Parties’ Nightmare Before Christmas, 2008.
With the FNM dates listed on his myspace, he will also be playing his own gig at the Toff in Town, Melbourne on Feb 23 with none other than Dr El Suavo. Get tickets for that night of magic, mayhem, hilarity and insult from moshtix.
Neil Hamburger and FNM… Australia, you’ve been warned!
Russian fans got the treat of their lives yesterday at Moscow’s B1 Max club , in yet another spectacular highlight of what is proving to be one of the most successful reunion tours in rock history (in stubbadub’s humble opinion.)
Faith No More not only unveiled Zombie Eaters for the first time this tour, but Mike Patton leaped unceremoniously into the pit of frenzied fans mid-way through From Out of Nowhere! Energy is running high and it seems like the guys are really enjoying themselves!
Despite news that Download Festival would be FNM‘s sole UK appearance they have just confirmed a whole series of new dates for August, including the already sold out Reading Festival and Leeds Festival!
In a stubbadub exclusive, Billy Gould has been in direct contact with us and has revealed that the band expect to be heading down under between Dec and February!
At this stage, the bassist told us, there is an 85% chance of an Australian tour. Another source close to the band has said Puffy is really looking forward to some Australian dates and has been pushing for the reunion for well over a year.
Australia is looking pretty definite as far as tour plans go, but the guys will have to see how the European tour pans out. We’ve waited this long, I’d say we can wait a few more months.
You heard it here first! We’ll keep you updated if there are any developments on this front.
Nearly 11 years have passed since FNM‘s last gig but the guys are set to hit the ground running. Billy & Roddy have both tweeted their wishes to hit up Brasil & Australia, but only European dates confirmed so far:
Strongly rumoured date for Sat Aug 29, Rock en Seine, Paris, France…but is yet to be confirmed by the band! More dates soon
A big thank you to Gronk! I’m Gezarie and I’ll be helping Gronk out with stubbadub from here on in. I know a few of you already, and I look forward to getting to know a few more. Cheers!
Mike Patton
1988 Patton Introduction Tape
4-Track recording, Billy Gould’s attic
San Francisco, CA
Tracklist:
01 The Cowboy Song
02 Surprise! You’re Dead!
03 Underwater Love
04 Falling To Pieces
“Recorded on 4-Track in Bill Gould’s attic as a demonstration of Mike Patton for Faith No More‘s management and their record company (Slash). Two copies of this tape exist, dubbed directly from the 4-Track by Bill onto tapes with pre-existing music on them.
This copy was sold on eBay in September 2006 after being found in a Hollywood, CA thrift shop in a box of other music industry demo tapes along with a copy of Mr Bungle’s 4th demo “OU818″ and 4 photos of Mike Patton taken in a Photo Vending Machine.
These are rough versions of the songs, most likely played live into the 4-Track. The music and lyrics are early versions and contain many differences from the final recordings.
The exact timing of the recording is unknown but FNM‘s first gig with Patton was in Nov 1988 and so this recording was probably made before that.
This is the missing link between Mike Patton in Mr. Bungle and Mike Patton in Faith No More and is a must for all collectors.”
