Mike Patton guests on the latest Secret Chiefs 3 7 inch release on a Traditionalists track titled “La Chanson de Jacky“.
The B-side, also a traditionalists song, is “a spaghetti-seasoned marination” rework of Book of Horizons’ “The Exile” titled simply “The Western Exile“.
Secret Chiefs 3 recently released two new tracks via the two satellite bands Ishraqiyun (Saptarshi)and Forms (Radar). The songs are available on both 7 inch and digital download and can be played in full at soundcloud.

Recently on FB Trey off-handedly mentioned that along with the South American tour, they are also currently in the planning stages of tours through America, Australia, the UK and Scandinavia.
No mention though of the much anticipated and long awaited next Secret Chiefs 3 album (Book of Souls?).
Stubb-Buddy Walkingdudette was one of the lucky ones who attended Zorn’s Masada Marathon last Wednesday in New York and she managed to grab a few pics during the madness. She had good seats. Check it.
BroadwayWorld have posted the lineup of John Zorn’s special Book of Angels Masada Marathon taking place at the David H. Koch Theater, NY, this Wednesday evening (30/03).
WalkingDudette has mentioned she received confirmation from them that Mike Patton will also be involved with the evening as part of the Electric Masada set.
The show will consist of two 90 minute sets with an intermission between.

According to Trevor Dunn’s gig calendar on his website, he is due to play with “Zorn’s Dreamers, Electric Masada, The Secret Chiefs 3, and Medeski Martin and Wood (subbing for Wood)” at Zorn fest, Lincoln Center NYC on March 30.
Not sure if this means he will be playing with SC3 or on the same bill as, but it’s great to see him due to play with Secret Chiefs again after all these years (and the semi-estrangement).

It’s a day for reminiscing, here at stubbadub. A year ago today, Gronk and I were with a bunch of you good people at the Hordern Pavillion, Sydney, for Faith No More‘s first sidewave. But, after wallowing in many a bittersweet memory today, it’s time to look to the future, and so to the up-and-coming Secret Chiefs 3, MadLove and Umlaut tour of South America, rumoured to be set for August.
Recently Trevor Dunn spoke MadLove with theoffline.com. The interview, shown below, touches on Trevor’s brief involvement with ex-Korn guitarist and born again christian, Head…no comment, his lack of involvement with Secret Chiefs 3 and the jazz influenced dynamics of the band he has crafted, MadLove .
Meanwhile, amid torrential rain and Melbourne floods, Umlaut took to the stage at the Evelyn, on February 4, and unleashed a few new tracks on the wet, happy crowd. Could these unreleased songs be a taste of the new album? We can only hope. Below is one said track, titled Trutes, courtesy of Jean Lizza aka Mother Hubbard. Good news everyone! (If you live in South America). Jean (Umlaut’s manager) tweeted a very interesting “Big announcement”……. a Secret Chiefs 3, Umlaut and Madlove tour through South America to take place August of this year.
Details are few at best, but check out the tweet for the hard evidence and I’ll do my best to keep you all updated with any news.

Posty and Holy Filament are speculating that this pro shot footage shot at the Secret Chiefs 3 Italian show earlier in the year will be officially released as the second SC3 live DVD. Here’s hoping, but as with any SC3 release, don’t hold your breathe.
Secret Chiefs 3 – Halloween – from NEW DVD 2010 from fantomatic agency
Secret Chiefs 3 will be playing along side a newly reformed Primus (minus Herb) at the Festival Tribulaciones Live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The band will also include original skinsman Danny Heifetz on drums with heavy hitter Peijman on percussion. The event takes place on the 3rd of December.

I’ve also read the Zu Patton Quartet are playing the festival as well, can anyone confirm this/have any info on this?
UPDATE (27/10): No Patton/Zu Quartet because Patton is busy with the Chile FNM Second Coming Finale gig, and I’ve received word that Danny will not be accompanying Secret Chiefs 3 at the Festival Tribulaciones show.
