Recorded during their tour de force residency in October, “Live at the Toff” captures all of the histrionics, unbridled energy and genre-defying tightness that have gained them the reputation as one of Melbourne’s most engaging and unhinged live acts.

Sex on Toast will be performing two full sets of music, from punk-rock to yacht-rock, from soundtracks to surf-rock, their genre-inclusive attitude and stage hijinks have been known to entice young and old…

Not long after Trevor, Trey and Mike were busy in New York together making spectacular musics at Zorn’s Masada Marathon, Danny and Bar are hooking up for one special night at the Toff!

Julian Curwin’s Mango Balloon (The Tango Saloon’s sexy cousin) will be joining Umlaut for a show tomorrow night at the Toff,  followed by a show the following day at the Evelyn supported by Angus Leslie’s Sex on Toast.

Meanwhile Umlaut are also busy working on a new album and prepping for the big South American foray with Trevor Dunn’s MadLove and Secret Chiefs 3.

The Mango Balloon also recently released their debut album “The Mango Balloon Vol 1“. Go check it out. While you’re at it, if you haven’t already, grab a copy of Umlaut’s debut from their store.

After a considerable hiatus, California legends The Clintonica’s (ex-Bärhugs, USA, Mr. B) bring their signature brand of windswept dude-rock to Melbourne for one show only.

Now, I’m not usually one to speculate but The Clintonicas?! Ahem, “Bärhugs“, “Mr B.”… is this ringing bells with anyone? For those who maybe aren’t aware of the musical ties here, Sex on Toast‘s guitarist, one Angus Leslie and the man behind the keys, Mr Olaf  Scott, feature in another of stubbadub’s much loved bands: Umlaut.

I’m wondering what the chef’s got cooking here. As I’m a west coast lady and dear Gronk is a Sydney boy, I need you stubbers to get down there and find out what the hell is going on.

America’s funny man Neil Hamburger will be performing his only solo Australian show on the Faith No More tour trail this Tuesday the 23rd of Feb supported by Melbournites Sex On Toast (featuring members of Umlaut):
