The Melvins join Soundwave 2011 Tour
Forgot to post this the other day when the line up leaked, but the Melvins will be making the trek down under next February to join the annual Australian music festival Soundwave, which hosted both Isis and Faith No More earlier this year.
Last time the Melvins were in Oz, Trevor Dunn filled in the bass duties. I’m guessing it will be the full entourage this time including the big biz boys, which should be interesting.
I’m hoping there will be Melvins solo shows as I really don’t want to have to go to soundwave

I’ll definately be going to soundwave, pretty much only for the Melvins and Maiden. Whheres the venue going to be? Last time it was at eastern creek and it was horrible, so dusty and dirty. I went there with a white shirt and came back home with a brown one.

You don’t want to go!? Eastern creek must be pretty terrible if it would make you pass up a lineup like this. I’m going for for Melvins, Primus, Slayer, Maiden, Protest the Hero and High on Fire. A few others could be interesting. But I’d probably go even if they took out all the good bands.

damn eastern creek, its just crap because its so dusty.
I really need to check out Primus, alot of people are saying that they’re a bit weird and technical so i’d like it.

@ Gronk – I totally agree with you that Eastern Creek is a nightmare! It was horrible this year getting there on the train and it was SO hot and the shuttle bus dropped us a long walk away from the entrance. My feet were toasted before I’d even got to the stages to take photos and me and my camera were covered in dust.
Melbourne is my favourite. I really want to go again, but the flight is so expensive from London. Soundwave always has a good line-up and worth travelling for.
