And the official press release:

“Umlaut vs. Dr El Suavo 2010 Tour!

Umlaut, the brainchild of Bär McKinnon (ex-Mr. Bungle, Secret Chiefs 3), have joined forces with the irrepressible, parlour magician extraordinaire, Dr El Suavo, for a rollicking Australian tour this June!

With the release of Umlaut’s debut album late last year, the band is keen to hit the road and bring their whimsical, soundtrack inspired tunes to the stage. The offbeat mix of shimmering keyboards, woodwinds, quirky percussion and surf guitar has garnered international praise from both Bunglelophiles and music critics alike. The band have played some killer shows with Secret Chiefs 3, The Melvins, Tango Saloon and Neil Hamburger and are thrilled to be on tour with the world’s crankiest magician, Dr El Suavo!

Umlaut’s intricate, dark, pop tunes are the perfect compliment to Dr El Suavo’s disgraceful, yet astounding magic tricks. Not to be missed.

I heard a rumour there may also be a special support act at the upcoming Sex on Toast gig as well….

New Zoo Weekly interview w/Slash says he considered Mike Patton being on his solo album, if there was a song that suited him.

Also, FNM merch if you missed out at Soundwave etc…

Didn’t count eh? I think we played SOME of our songs pretty well that night…
And as for Patton on Slash’s album… Uhhh- fairly irrelevant!
      Slash sucks anyway…

    • Jeffrey Dahmer Says:

Might consider going to this. I still haven’t gotten around to listening to Umlaut’s album yet (Atlas Face put me off) and I did go and see Bar on his solo Oz tour in ’04 which was to be honest terrible. Dr El Suavo’s show live is pretty funny I must admit though.

    • Sara Says:

I wouldn’t say the Claypool show doesn’t count for me, but hopefully after this I can be free of the memories of those motherf*&king hecklers.

    • Sara Says:

Oh and Jeffrey, I would say definitely give the album a listen. Atlas Face is actually my least favourite song on the album. (Which surprised me.) Although its still not a bad song in my opinion. I wouldn’t say Atlas Face by itself is a good sample for the entire album.

    • gronk Says:

Hey guys. sorry, I didn’t mean it that way! I meant it as it not being an Umlaut headline show

    • gronk Says:

And Sara is right, atlas face is not a good representation of the album. Give it a listen for sure. There are some awesome bungle moments in there I reckon.

Oh and there are a couple of songs from his original solo oz tour that you refferred to. I was at the newey gig. It wasn’t the greatest but it was good to see him getting out there. Plus I had a good chat to him afterwards :)

    • Sara Says:

I am looking forward to hearing Shane Lieber and Angus singing Patton’s part though. HOPEFULLY a storm off won’t be necessary this time.

    • 11th Victim Says:

Yoyo- no probz Josh! It’ll be a longer set with way more cool stuff…
And yeah, the album definitely has some great shit on it!

    • gronk Says:

the album is awesome. cant wait for the factory gig man :)

    • Jeffrey Dahmer Says:

Thanks, I’ll certainly give the album a listen to in the near future.

    • Nina Says:

where do i get tickets? check factory site no luck, not ticketek or ticketmaster. anyone?

    • Arschrammen Says:

I am looking forward to seeing Shane Lieber in general. hopefully with his shirt off. SEXY MANNNNN

    • Sara Says:

@Arschrammen Is that you Shane? :P

    • Sara Says:

Info is finally on the Factory site. You can buy tickets. $16! $19 all up if you want them delivered. My travel each week costs more than that.
